Autodesk Revit is the software most Malaysian architecture, engineering and construction firms use for Building Information Modelling (BIM). If you are looking for a Revit course, the main choices are which discipline and which level.

Step 1: choose your discipline

  • Revit Architecture – for architects, architectural technicians, interior designers and anyone who models walls, floors, roofs, doors, windows and produces drawings.
  • Revit Structure – for civil and structural engineers and drafters: grids, columns, beams, foundations, slabs and structural documentation.
  • Revit MEP – for mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineers and designers: ducting, piping, lighting and power.

Not sure? Most people start with Revit Architecture Essential, because every discipline works around the architectural model.

Step 2: choose your level

Level Who it's for What you learn
Essential New to Revit, or self-taught with gaps Interface, modelling a complete building, views, sheets and construction drawings
Advanced Already using Revit on projects Families, phasing, design options, worksharing, collaboration
BIM Coordinator Leading BIM on a project Coordination with Navisworks, clash detection, working in a Common Data Environment

How long does it take to learn Revit?

Each MTTC Revit course is 3 days of hands-on training (10.30am–5.30pm). After an Essential course you can model a full building and produce drawings; most people become confident after a few weeks of using it on real work. If you want the full journey – Architecture, Structure, MEP, coordination, 4D/5D and an Autodesk certification – the Professional Certificate in BIM (PCBIM) covers it in about 3 months.

Can I get certified?

Yes. MTTC College is a Certiport Authorized Testing Center, so after your course you can sit the official Autodesk Certified User: Revit exam at our Petaling Jaya campus.

Can my company pay through HRD Corp?

MTTC College is an HRD Corp registered training provider, so employers can apply to claim the course fee. See our guide on how to claim HRD Corp for a short course.
