Day-by-day programme

Day 1

  • Step 1: Installation and Setup – download and install Lumion, check system requirements (graphics card, RAM, multi-core processor)
  • Step 2: Starting a New Project – launch Lumion, create a new scene from a template or empty scene
  • Step 3: Importing a 3D Model – prepare your model (.DAE, .SKP, .FBX, .MAX; clean up in SketchUp, Revit, 3ds Max)
  • Step 3: Importing a 3D Model (cont.) – import the model, position it using move, rotate and scale tools
  • Step 4: Adding Environment and Objects – sculpt terrain (mountains, hills, water); add trees, plants, furniture, people, vehicles
  • Step 5: Adjusting Materials – select materials via the material editor; edit color, texture, reflectivity and transparency

Day 2

  • Step 6: Setting Up Lighting – sunlight (sun position, angle, time of day); artificial lights (intensity, color, shadows)
  • Step 7: Adding Effects – depth of field, lens flare, vignette, color correction; weather effects (rain, snow, fog, wind)
  • Step 8: Rendering – image rendering (Photo mode), animation rendering (Movie mode, camera paths, keyframes)
  • Step 8: Rendering (cont.) – panorama rendering (360-degree views)
  • Step 9: Final Touches and Export – review views, materials and lighting; export images, videos or panoramas at highest quality
