On 9 May 2025, MTTC students stepped out of the classroom and into the heart of timber innovation with an exclusive factory visit and workshop at Weng Meng.
The founder personally welcomed the students and shared the brand's journey and the story behind this timeless material – from craftsmanship and tradition to timber's place in contemporary design.
In the hands-on workshop, students cut and worked with timber under the guidance of experienced craftspeople, building techniques they can apply in future design projects.
The visit showed how moving from theory to real-world application prepares students to become innovative, industry-ready designers.
